Hunter Industries is a manufacturing company that provides high quality, efficient solutions for irrigation, outdoor lighting, and custom molding. Hunter is a market leader in producing a full range of solutions for residential, commercial, and golf course applications.
CHALLENGE With over 100 Cost Centers, CAPEX, and OPEX plans, managing labor and capital planning was a time consuming annual process that constrained the company’s ability to move away from annual planning models to a rolling-forecast model.
SOLUTION To accelerate Hunter’s finance efficiency project, we recommended a phased solution implementation approach that included IBM Planning Analytics application deployed in the cloud with Data41’s Foundation Series™ models. The pre-configured models provided a lower coast of entry to help shorten the implementation timeframes with pre-built reports and cube models.
BENEFITS Hunter is saving approximately 32 hours per month of forecast preparation time, which has allowed the team to successfully support the broader organization without the need to hire additional staff. The team is spending less time on plan reconciliation and are able to increase the tempo of reporting and analysis with improved decision support.
“We capture and consolidate everything directly using Planning Analytics in the Cloud which saves around 32 hours per month in forecast preparation time and there is no risk of manual error.”
–Financial Planning Manager, Hunter Industries
